Katharine Orellana, Development Officer for Social Care and Support, Age UK
Katharine role involves developing expertise in services that support older people’s care, independence, wellbeing and social inclusion, and using that expertise to promote and support service development and delivery by Age UKs. She has compiled a series of case studies of innovation and best practice in service delivery, and is currently focusing on aspects of personalisation and day services. Prior to her current role, she collected and disseminated information about services for Age Concern England’s Services Development Helpdesk, having joined the organisation in 1998. She has an MSc in Gerontology.
Prior to life at Age UK, Katharine gained a degree in Spanish Studies and then worked for ten years at the headquarters of an international development charity specialising in promoting communication for social change.
